Point Sur Investors is a California-based hedge fund management firm that focuses on identifying companies that are developing medicines that have the potential to significantly change standards of care. The investment portfolio consists of small- to mid-sized US-based, publicly-traded, biopharmaceutical companies that are dedicated to the discovery and development of innovative therapies. It invests in companies that have not yet been commercially developed and have a favorable risk-return profile with significant upside potential through the introduction of innovative therapies to patients worldwide. The biotech market is not efficient, as not all information is known and often incorrectly evaluated by market participants. Many times technical expertise is required to properly understand clinical data releases, the targeted space, the competition, and side effects. The firm was founded in 2016 by Ramses Erdtmann and Thomas Butler. Prior to forming the firm, Mr. Erdtmann and Mr. Butler were at Pharmacyclics Inc.
