GAM Investments

GAM Investments is a UK-based global asset management firm established in 1983 that manages real estate investments and hedge funds. GAM's real estate arm specializes in the acquisition, redevelopment, and debt financing of real estate assets, as well as the management of private real estate funds. The firm focuses on opportunities in commercial, industrial, multi-family, and hospitality properties across Europe. In October 2015, GAM acquired Renshaw Bay's real estate strategies and funds, including all existing client relationships. GAM provides discretionary portfolio management services to private clients, charities, family offices, and other investors. It offers a broad range of strategies designed to maximize investment returns while taking into account currency preference, attitude towards risk, and tax and legal considerations. GAM clients have access to actively managed funds including equity long-only, equity hedge funds, and funds of hedge funds. Its funds are authorized in various jurisdictions and denominated in a range of currencies to cater to the needs of its investors globally. In November 2009, GAM was spun off as a separate business, with the new entity combining GAM with Swiss & Global Asset. GAM Systematic is based in Cambridge, UK, and is the systematic arm of GAM. It employs a rigorous, systematic investment process, seeking to provide returns with low correlation to traditional assets as well as other hedge funds. The firm's investment philosophy focuses on the relationship between science and cutting-edge technology, high levels of transparency, and robust risk management systems. On 2nd October, 2015, Renshaw Bay completed the transfer of its Real Estate Finance business to entities in the group headed by GAM Holdings AG. In October 2016, Cantab Capital was acquired by GAM to form GAM Systematic, a platform focused on quantitative investing in long-only and alternative strategies that are distributed through GAM’s existing global distribution channels.
