Founded in 1993, Brown Advisory is a Maryland-based private, independent investment management and advisory firm. The firm provides private equity and hedge funds investment solutions through commingled fund-of-funds programs, separately managed accounts, and direct funds with offices in Austin, Baltimore, Boston, the Carolinas, Delaware, Frankfurt, London, New York, San Francisco, Singapore, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. The Brown Advisory private equity business offers clients access to a network of leading private equity managers using a feeder fund structure and also constructs Private Equity Partners (PEP) multi-manager vehicles that represent the firm’s thinking around portfolio development and manager selection. Deconstructing the typical overly diversified fund-of-funds model, the Brown Advisory PEP program offers concentrated portfolios of high conviction ideas balanced among a small number of carefully selected managers. The PEP program's vintage approach is designed to enable tactical shifts across styles and sectors within a strategic allocation to private equity. Investors are able to continually re-evaluate its risk tolerance, liquidity needs, and return targets prior to making annual investments.
