Atlantic Hedge Investments

Atlantic Hedge Investments was a private investment firm based in South Africa, established in 2015 and co-managed by Wayne Graham and Karl Avis. It operated as a private limited liability company. The firm did not offer any products, so exposure could only be gained through direct investment into the company. Atlantic Hedge Investments focused on dynamically managing a single JSE all-share market position. This position was controlled using fundamental, macroeconomic, and technical factors. Exposure was limited to being up to 300% long and 100% short. In the face of macroeconomic or fundamental risks, the default exposure was set to zero. When such risks were deemed reasonable, the default exposure was 100%. Exposure was then adjusted based on technical momentum factors, measured on both a medium and short-term basis. The firm's aim was to at least track performance during rising markets and protect performance during declining markets.
