Its four principal lines of business are corporate investment, real estate investment, asset-based investment and venture capital. Arcapita also invests in renewable energy infrastructure alongside a wider spectrum of energy infrastructure projects. Arcapita’s mission is to provide innovative and distinctive investment opportunities that generate superior risk-adjusted returns while adhering to Islamic principles. In March 2012, Arcapita filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the US, “with the goal of developing and confirming a plan of reorganisation”.
