
Latest performance data shows that top-quartile vintage 2018 venture capital funds reached net IRRs of 42% in Q3 2021, an indication of continued strong performance. Fundraising slowed significantly in the quarter, but deal numbers soared as adoption of technology became more widespread, driven by the pandemic. With public markets buoyant since mid-2020, venture firms have benefited from a favorable exit environment, which has been a boon for the asset class overall.
