Venture capital continues to thrive, despite a decline in fundraising. Top-quartile IRRs for venture capital funds reached 42% and aggregate deal value soared to $172bn in Q3 2021. The number of funds closed declined from 425 in Q2 to 264 in Q3, accompanied by a drop in aggregate capital raised, from $52bn to $29bn.
