Infrastructure’s performance has shown resilience, delivering a 13.4% one-year IRR to March 2021. The asset class maintains its strong performance position in alternatives, second only to private equity in the one-, three-, and five-year horizons, but losing out to real estate over 10 years. Rising inflation concerns mean infrastructure is likely to gain more traction as investors look to utilize its hedge inflation mechanisms. Indeed, aggregate capital targeted by funds in market in Q3 is up 15% from the start of the year.
