A round-up of the latest private markets people moves globally
The Boston Foundation has named Natalie Herter as CIO, succeeding George Wilson. Herter joins from the Mount Holyoke College Investment Office, where she was Director of Investments, and spent more than a decade at Cambridge Associates.
Swedish pension fund Kapan Tjanstepension has appointed Lena Erikson as CFO, effective October. She joins from AFA Forsakringar and succeeds Siw Hanerus, who is retiring.
Memorial Healthcare System has named Irfan Mirza as CFO. He has served in the role on an interim basis since April 2025. Mirza was previously Vice President of Corporate Finance at the Florida-based organization.
The United Services Automobile Association has named David F. Melcher as Chairman of its Board of Directors, succeeding James M. Zortman. Melcher has been on the USAA Board for nearly seven years, most recently as Vice Chairman.
Blue Owl Capital has hired Philippe Benedetti as Managing Director, Private Wealth Switzerland, based in its new Zurich office. He joins from Schroders and previously held roles at DWS and UBS.
Cinven has named Dominic Smyth as CFO and COO. He joins after nearly 27 years at Deutsche Bank, most recently serving as Global COO of the investment bank.
Fortress Investment Group has appointed Yuko Umino as Head of Private Wealth Solutions for Japan, and Harry Bush as Head of Private Wealth Solutions for EMEA. Umino joins from PIMCO Japan, Bush from Nuveen.
H.I.G. Capital has hired Younghee Choi as Head of Asia in its capital formation group in Hong Kong. She was previously Blackstone’s Head of Korea Institutional Client Solutions.
KKR has appointed Jonty Edwards and Paula Weisshuber as Managing Directors in its credit and markets business. Edwards joins in London from JP Morgan's M&A team, while Frankfurt-based Weisshuber was most recently Head of EMEA Corporate Debt Capital Markets at Bank of America.
Northern Trust Asset Management has named Amy Johnston as Head of its Global Institutional Client Group. She spent 14 years at State Street Investment Management, most recently as Head of Distribution Strategy for the Americas Institutional Client Group.
Partners Group has appointed Roberto Cagnati and Juri Jenkner as Co-CEOs, effective January 2027. Cagnati was most recently Head of Portfolio Solutions and Chief Risk Officer, while Jenkner is currently President and Head of Business Development. CEO David Layton will move to CIO and Chair of the Global Investment Committee.
Sound Point Capital has hired Faris AbiNader as Head of Real Estate Capital Formation. He will focus on institutional capital formation for the firm's commercial real estate credit business.
London-based venture and growth investor Advent Life Sciences has appointed Gail Jermyn as Investor Relations Partner. She joins after roles at Colony Capital and placement agents MVision Private Equity Advisers and Atlantic-Pacific Capital.
LeapFrog Investments has appointed Virginia Doble as a Partner to lead investor solutions globally. She led investor relations and capital raising at Helios, and before that headed EMEA distribution at Actis.
Silicon Valley venture firm Mayfield has hired Adit Singh as a Partner focused on AI infrastructure, cybersecurity, and physical AI. He joins from Cota Capital, and previously co-founded Neotribe Ventures.
Obra Capital has hired Colleen Kilfoyle as Chief Compliance Officer. She spent more than a decade at Sculptor Capital Management, most recently as Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Litigation & Regulatory Counsel.
Venture capital firm Piva Capital has added Sushil Purohit as a Venture Partner. Purohit is Group CEO of clean energy company Gentari and previously served as President of Wartsila Energy. He will advise Piva and its portfolio companies on commercialization, partnerships, and global expansion.
The Rockefeller Foundation has named Mike Muldoon as CEO of affiliate RF Catalytic Capital. He joined the Foundation in 2017 and will continue as its Chief of Staff and Counselor to the President while a successor is sought for that role.
European private equity firm Seven2 has promoted Aida Ben Lamine to Head of Investor Relations, Capital Formation & Corporate Development, and hired Ahmed Khalil as Director, Head of International Institutions. Ben Lamine has been with Seven2 since 2013, while Khalil joins from Nordic Capital.
Placement agent Asante Capital has hired Alex Ardente and Robin Seng as Managing Directors in New York and Hong Kong, respectively. Ardente will manage a number of North American fundraisings, while Seng joins the secondaries team with experience across GP- and LP-led transactions in Asia.
Baker McKenzie has hired Christoph Jerger as a Partner in its transactional practice group in Munich. He covers M&A and private equity, including sponsor transactions and restructurings.
Davis Polk has added Todd B Kornreich as a Partner in its M&A practice in New York. He advises on transactions including leveraged buyouts, take-privates, and carve-outs.
Gibson Dunn has added Suzanne Thomson as a Partner in its business restructuring and reorganization practice in London. She advises on cross-border restructurings, distressed situations, and special situations.
Latham & Watkins will add Grace Huang and Edward Freeman as Partners in Hong Kong. Both join from Freshfields, with Huang entering the capital markets practice and Freeman joining the M&A and private equity practice.
Mayer Brown has hired Rob Mathews, David Becker, and Benjamin Bierwirth as Partners in its London banking and finance practice. The trio join from Baker McKenzie and focus on leveraged finance and private capital.
Paul, Weiss has appointed Mandeep Lotay as Head of European Structured Finance & Securitizations and a Partner in its finance group in London. His practice includes private credit, asset-backed finance, securitizations, and other structured finance transactions.
Proskauer has hired Christine Le Bihan-Graf as a Partner in Paris. She advises infrastructure funds and other investors on regulatory matters and complex projects across energy, transport, utilities, and other infrastructure sectors.
Sidley Austin will add Deborah Paul as co-leader of its tax practice and a Partner in New York. Joining from Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, she advises on the tax aspects of M&A and other corporate transactions.
Simpson Thacher has hired Erik Elsea as a Partner in its energy and infrastructure practice in Washington, DC.
Skadden has appointed Zachary Finley as a Partner in its finance group in Palo Alto. He advises on private credit, asset-based lending, capital structures, restructurings, and workouts.
Weil has hired Jonathan Stott and Michael Hanna as Partners in its US private equity group in San Francisco. Stott joins from Dechert, where he led the West Coast private equity practice, while Hanna was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis.
White & Case has added Nick Rainsford and Parthiv Rishi as Partners in its global M&A practice in London and Singapore, respectively. Rainsford joins from Baker McKenzie and focuses on infrastructure and energy transactions. Rishi comes from Sidley Austin and advises private equity and venture funds across Southeast Asia and India.
Alston & Bird has added Stanimir Kostov as a Partner in its finance group in New York. He advises on debt financings, and returns to private practice from a financial intelligence and credit platform.
Day Pitney has hired Jared Shwartz as a Partner in its corporate practice in Boston. He advises search funds, independent sponsors, and entrepreneurs on lower-middle-market acquisitions and exits.
Foley & Lardner has hired Brad Drake and Kyle Pine as Corporate Partners in Chicago and Boston, respectively. They cover insurance transactions, structured finance, M&A, private equity, and transactional tax matters.
Greenberg Traurig has added Rose Schlichtmann-Prince and Sheldon Hunt Laing as Shareholders in its digital infrastructure and private funds groups, respectively. Schlichtmann-Prince joins from Meta and is based in Washington, DC and Miami. Laing joins from Kirkland & Ellis in New York.
Hogan Lovells Cadwalader has hired Adil Hussain in Dubai. He joins from Baker McKenzie, where he was Global Head of Islamic Finance and led banking and finance in the Middle East.
King & Spalding has hired Nicola Yeomans as a Private Equity M&A Partner in Singapore. She was previously Co-Head of Private Capital at Mallesons.
McDermott Will & Schulte has hired Julia Winters as a Partner in its business restructuring practice in New York. Joining from Katten, she advises on restructuring and related commercial disputes.
Osborne Clarke has opened a Luxembourg office led by new Partners Anne-Gaelle Delabye and Gerard Maitrejean. Delabye joins from Ogier to lead the investment funds and regulatory group. Maitrejean, formerly Head of Corporate at CMS, will lead corporate and M&A. Mathilde Ostertag and Nicolas Mille will head up tax, and banking and finance, respectively.
Professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal has made two Managing Director appointments: Javier Garcia-Baos will lead debt advisory in Spain and Portugal, and Yuichiro Azo is Co-Leader of Corporate Finance in Japan. Garcia-Baos previously worked at Kenta Capital and JP Morgan, while Azo joins from Almado after more than two decades in investment banking and M&A advisory.
Apex Group, a Bermuda-based fund and asset services provider, has named Nick Tomadakis as Chief Product Officer. He most recently served as Chief Product & Growth Officer at DCM Systems, following earlier roles at Revolut, Barclays, and Visa Europe.
New York-based CohnReznick has hired Robert Weaver as a Transaction Advisory Services Partner in New York. He brings more than two decades of M&A experience advising private equity and corporate clients.
Evercore has hired John Pissanos as a Senior Managing Director in its Healthcare Investment Banking Group in London. He will focus on life science tools, and diagnostics and medtech.
Houlihan Lokey has hired Jean-Baptiste Didier as a Managing Director in its financial sponsors group in Paris, to lead sponsor coverage in France. He joins from Stifel, where he headed up healthcare investment banking in France.
Paris-based corporate and investment bank Natixis CIB has named Eric Hamou as Co-Head of Natixis Partners alongside Yann Le Fur. Hamou brings experience advising European mid-cap companies and private equity funds.
Management consulting firm Oliver Wyman has hired Henry Elphick as a Partner in its healthcare & life sciences and private capital practices. His remit includes healthcare strategy, M&A, and commercial due diligence across the investment lifecycle.
EFG International has appointed Ranjit Khanna as CEO of its Dubai Advisory Office. He joins from Bank of Singapore, where he was DIFC Chief Executive and led its private banking business across the Middle East, Europe, and South Asia.
US investment advisor Greycourt has hired Mike Meehan as Managing Director and CIO. He joins from Nuveen, where he was Senior Portfolio Strategist and co-founded its Private Market Institute.
Mirus Capital Advisors has hired Roger Christopher as a Managing Director across its healthcare, life sciences, and technology teams. He previously served as a senior technology banker at a Philadelphia-based middle market investment banking firm.
Industry associations
The Managed Funds Association has appointed Zach Gates as Vice President, US Government Affairs, focusing on capital-markets policy affecting alternative asset managers. He joins from the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Capital Markets, where he was Staff Director.
