A round-up of the latest private markets people moves globally

Limited partners
  • US-based wealth manager Cerity Partners has appointed Will Peng as its first Chief Innovation Officer. Peng founded and led fintech company Northstar and was previously a Partner at Red Swan.

  • Deutsche Bank Private Bank has appointed Eleftherios Sachanidis, Ashkan Anbari, James Ditcham, and Harry Honesty to its Private Bank Middle East team in Dubai.

  • Canadian institutional investor IESO has named Jason Fitzsimmons as President and CEO, effective August 1. Fitzsimmons served as Deputy Minister of Finance and Deputy Minister of Energy in Ontario, and has held executive roles at Hydro One and Ontario Power Generation.

  • Summitry, a US-based wealth manager, has appointed President Alex Katz and COO Conor Wilkes as Co-CEOs. They succeed Colin Higgins, who will move to Executive Chairman after 22 years leading the firm.

  • US-based insurer The Hanover Insurance Group has announced that John C. Roche will retire as President and CEO at the end of this year. Richard W. Lavey, COO and President of Hanover Agency Markets, has been named CEO-elect.

  • Swiss wealth manager UBS has appointed Samuel Duckett as a Financial Advisor in its Austin, Texas office. Duckett joins from Morgan Stanley, where he spent six years advising individuals and families on wealth management strategies.


General partners
  • Global asset manager Blackstone has appointed Ami Momaya as Managing Director and Head of Infrastructure for India. Momaya joins from KKR India, and previously held senior roles at the National Infrastructure Investment Fund and Morgan Stanley Investment Management.

  • Timberland investment manager Campbell Global has promoted Michael Barbara to Head of Global Acquisitions. He joined Campbell Global in 2024 from New Forests.

  • Ellavoz Impact Capital has named Jeffrey Crum as CEO, in addition to his role as President. Crum joined the social impact investor and real estate developer as COO in 2024 after more than a decade at New Jersey Community Capital. Ellavoz’s founder Robert Hutchins will become Chairman.

  • US-based private equity firm Eterna Growth Partners has appointed Brett Eddy as AI CTO Advisor. Eddy joins from Palo Alto Strategy Group, where he was Executive Director of Technology.

  • EVP, an Australia-based venture capital firm, has promoted Mark Velik to Partner. Velik joined the firm more than seven years ago from McKinsey.

  • Global alternative asset manager Future Standard has appointed Edwin Conway as CEO. Conway joins after senior roles at BlackRock and Blackstone. Co-founder Michael Forman will transition to full-time Executive Chairman.

  • Garnett Station Partners, a US-based principal investment firm, has promoted David Dragich and Rafi Haramati to Partner, Mike Drittel to Managing Director, Will Edmonds to Principal, and Sam Abbatacola to Vice President.

  • Global alternative asset manager GCM Grosvenor has appointed Philip Rotering as Executive Director and Lukas von Dreusche as Associate in its Frankfurt office. Rotering joins from Prime Capital, von Dreusche from Universal Investment.

  • GHO Capital Partners, a European healthcare investor, has appointed Olav König as Head of Investor Relations. König joins from HarbourVest Partners, where he spent over a decade as Head of EMEA Investor Relations.

  • HarbourVest Partners has appointed Brian Taranto as Managing Director and COO of Global Private Wealth, and Kaitlin May as Managing Director and Head of Product Management. Taranto joins from Morgan Stanley Investment Management, where he led on US intermediary distribution. May joins from SKKY Partners, where she was COO.

  • HighVista Strategies, a US-based specialty alternatives asset manager, has appointed Ramit Malhotra as Principal on its GP-led secondaries team in New York. Malhotra joins from CPP Investments, where he worked in the private equity secondaries team.

  • Canada-based private equity firm Kensington Capital Partners has appointed Saar Pikar as President, effective July 28, and Bogdan Cenanovic as Senior Managing Director, Head of Private Equity, effective August 10. Pikar joins from OMERS, Cenanovic from PSG Equity.

  • Mercer Super, an Australia-based asset manager, has appointed Court Haas as Interim CEO, effective August 13. Haas is currently CFO of Mercer Pacific. He will succeed Claire Ross, who will leave Mercer after almost 17 years.

  • UK-based private equity firm Mobeus has promoted Freddie Bacon and Dominic Draysey to Partner.

  • Monroe Capital, a US-based private credit manager , has appointed Alexandra Artes-Roy as Director on its direct originations team in Los Angeles. Artes-Roy joins from KKR, where she worked across US and Asia private credit teams.

  • US-based private investment firm Motive Partners has appointed Tim Karpoff as Industry Partner, effective September 1. Karpoff served as Global Head of Strategy at Citigroup and has held senior roles at Barclays and the US Department of the Treasury.

  • US-based venture studio Red Cell Partners has appointed Glenn Youngkin as Partner, Chairman, and Board Member. Youngkin is the former Governor of Virginia and former Co-CEO of The Carlyle Group.

  • Sofinnova Partners, a European venture capital firm focused on life sciences, has appointed physician-scientist David Evans as Partner. Evans joins from Roche Venture Fund, where he was Senior Investment Director.

  • Global private investment firm Starwood Capital Group has promoted Qahir Madhany to Head of Acquisitions, Americas. He will focus on real estate transactions. Madhany previously worked at Blackstone and Westbrook Partners.

  • William Blair Investment Management has named Olga Bitel as Chief Investment Strategist. Bitel joined the US-based asset manager in 2009 and most recently served as Global Strategist.

  • US-based infrastructure investor Ember Infrastructure has promoted Jisung Baek to CFO. Baek joins from Certares Management, where he was Controller. Before that, he worked at Staple Street Capital, Avista Capital Partners, and Credit Suisse.

  • US-based private equity firm Vance Street Capital has appointed Jason Burmer as Managing Director and Head of Business Development. He joins from Edgewater Capital Partners.

  • Akin has appointed Megan Spelman as Partner in its corporate practice in New York. Spelman rejoins the firm’s private equity and M&A team.

  • Cleary Gottlieb has appointed Ben Persina as Partner in its global debt finance practice in Washington, DC. He advises private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, and public and private companies on financing transactions.

  • Paul, Weiss has appointed Jamie McLaren as Partner in its M&A group within the corporate department, based in Hong Kong. McLaren advises private equity sponsors, sovereign wealth funds, and public and private companies on transactions across India and Southeast Asia.

  • Simpson Thacher has appointed Ryan Cox, Payson Lyman, and Joshua Morry as Partners. Cox is based in Dallas, Lyman in Boston, and Morry in New York. The team advises on hybrid capital, private credit, and capital solutions transactions.

  • Mayer Brown has appointed Daniel Rothberg as Partner in its real estate practice in Los Angeles. Rothberg joins from Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. His practice focuses on structuring, negotiating, and executing complex transactions across all major asset classes.

  • Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal has appointed Bernd Oehring as Managing Director in its private equity performance improvement practice, based in Germany. He will work across Europe as part of the firm’s carve-out and merger integration team. Oehring joins from Oliver Wyman, where he co-led corporate M&A in Europe.

  • Bank of America has added several hires across its regional investment banking business, expanding coverage in Austin, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Detroit, Minneapolis, New York, San Francisco, and West Palm Beach.

  • US-based real estate services firm CBRE has appointed Robert Koontz as Senior Managing Director, Head of Multifamily Debt Capital Markets. Koontz joins from Freddie Mac, where he spent 17 years.

  • Global investment bank Houlihan Lokey has appointed Dan Buffery as Managing Director in its Capital Solutions Group. Buffery joins from HarbourVest Partners, where he was Managing Director in its infrastructure and real assets group.
