February 26, 2024 (Preqin News) – A round-up of last week’s people moves at LPs and GPs:

LPs

  • UK bank Barclays has promoted Sasha Wiggins to the role of CEO of the Private Bank and Wealth Management Division. She has served in a number of different roles during her 22-year tenure at the firm and has been promoted from Group Head of Public Policy and Corporate Responsibility.

  • BNP Paribas Wealth Management has promoted Pierre Ramadier to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of International Markets from Global Head of Entrepreneurs and Families Coverage, where he served since December 2020. Before this, he was Senior EVP, Head of the Wealth Management Group at the firm.

  • Eastspring Investments has appointed Vis Nayar as Chief Investment Officer (CIO), effective from June 2024. Nayar, who will also sit on Eastspring's executive committee, joins from HSBC Asset Management, where he was most recently Global CIO for Equities.

  • Northern Trust has named Oliver Noël as Country Head of Luxembourg and leader of its Luxembourg-based asset servicing business. He will also be made CEO and a board member of Northern Trust Global Services SE, the firm’s European bank, pending regulatory approval.

  • Public pension fund San Joaquin County Employees’ Retirement Association has appointed Renee Ostrander as CEO, replacing Johanna Shick, who is retiring in March. She joins from the California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS), where she spent over 27 years and most recently was Chief of the Employer Account Management Division.

  • UK-based TPT Retirement Solutions has appointed Adam Tudor as Head of Defined Contribution Distribution. He joins the firm from Smart Pension, where he was Head of Business Development. He previously served as Business Development Manager at workplace pensions provider NOW.

  • Swedish public pension fund Alecta has elected Carina Åkerström as Chairman of the board. She joins the firm from Svenska Handelsbanken, where she has been employed since 1986, serving as CEO for the last five years.

GPs

  • Chicago-based hedge fund Balyasny has hired Francine Fang in a newly created role, Global Head of Systematic Investing. She was most recently Deputy Head of Investments at Cubist Systematic Strategies, and previously served as Senior Risk Officer at Point72.

  • New York-based private equity firm Brown Brothers Harriman and Co, which invests in the US, Europe, and Asia, has announced the appointment of six new general partners: Hilary Capay, Orla Foley, Neil Hohmann, Christian Brunet, William Hyder, and Bradley Langer.

    Capay is Head of Treasury and Global Head of Network and Counterparty Relationship Management. Foley is Global Head of Relationship Management for investor services and directs strategy for client management. Hohmann is Head of Credit Alternatives and Co-Portfolio Manager for BBH’s taxable fixed income strategies. Brunet is the firm’s Head of Strategy, Finance, and Operations for private banking and investment management. Hyder is responsible for the southeast region for private banking, and Langer manages BBH Capital Partners.

  • New York-based private equity firm Coalesce Capital has recruited Jonathan Gurss as Partner from Sentinel Capital Partners, where he was Principal. The firm has also hired Neil Merchant as Principal from Vestar Capital Partners and Jeffrey Stone as Director of Business Development from SFW Capital Partners.

  • San Francisco-based private equity firm Superstep Capital has appointed Dave Kilimnik as Partner. He joins the firm from Hero Digital, a digital experience agency he founded and led.

  • Stone-Goff Partners, a New York-based lower middle-market private equity firm, has announced a series of promotions: Matt Gibbons has been appointed Principal, Abhishek Shah and Priyanka Chodhari made Vice Presidents, and Anna Shipp promoted to Senior Associate.
