A round-up of last week’s people moves at LPs and GPs around the world

(Update: The VSS Capital entry has been updated to clarify that David Fann is remaining in his current position of Senior Managing Director and Head of Investor Relations.)

LPs

  • Los Angeles-based wealth management firm Aspiriant has hired Tim Harvey and Rohit Mansukhani as Senior Managers in its Mountain View, California office. Harvey will sit in the Total Wealth Management group and the Professional Fiduciary Practice and was most recently a Senior Wealth Advisor at the Mather Group. Mansukhani rejoins after working at the firm from 2015 to 2019 and will work with clients in the Total Wealth Management and Exclusive Family Office groups. Before returning to the firm, he was a VP at ICONIQ Capital.

  • Delaware-headquartered insurance company Delphi Financial Group has hired Jeffrey Lebovitz as EVP and Chief Financial Officer. He joins from $50bn AUM alternative asset manager Pretium Partners, which focuses on real estate, mortgage finance, and corporate debt, and previously held positions at Credit Suisse, HSBC, and Lehman Brothers. Delphi Financial Group is a subsidiary of the Tokie Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Company, based in Tokyo.

  • Australia’s Sovereign Wealth Fund, Future Fund, has announced six promotions to Executive Director: James Fraser-Smith (Infrastructure), Shikha Gupta (Alternatives), Jackie Chin (Dynamic Asset Allocation), Marissa Rossi (Listed Equities), Kelvin Mak-Lui (Private Equity), and Wendy Hu (Portfolio Integration). Future Fund announced on November 21 that the Australian Government would defer drawdowns in the fund until at least 2032–2033.

  • UK wealth manager Hundle has hired Nimisha Carver as General Counsel. She joins after a seven-year stint at RBC Capital Markets, where she reached the position of Senior Counsel, Head of Investment Banking, Legal. Before that, she spent 13 years at UBS, including three years as Global COO Legal and Compliance.

  • Wealth manager Prime Capital Financial has hired Jared Copinga as a Financial Advisor, based in Salt Lake City, Utah. He joins from Edelman Financial Engines where he was a Director of Financial Planning for nearly a decade.

  • Rothschild & Co has opened a new office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, appointing Sascha Benz, Head of Wealth Management for the Middle East, to head the location. Rothschild & Co’s Global Advisory business has been established in the region since 2008 and has an office in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

  • UBS Wealth Management has hired Jason Zachter as a Managing Director and Financial Advisor in New York. He previously spent 14 years at Morgan Stanley, latterly as Managing Director.

GPs

  • Apollo Global Management has opened an office in Seoul, South Korea, and appointed Jan Hyun Lee as Partner and Head of Korea. He will help drive capital formation strategy, institutional relationships, and team growth in the country and joins from Samsung Securities, where he was a Senior Executive Vice President. Before that, he was Managing Director, Head of Korea in Private Equity and Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs. Dr. Sam Young Chung has been appointed as an Academic Advisor to apply his expertise to the firm’s work at the intersection of retirement solutions and alternative assets. He will remain a Professor at Yonsei University and Head of the Alternative Investment Funds association (AIF) APAC.

  • AXA Investment Managers has promoted Ouajnat Karim to the role of UK CEO. She will retain some of her responsibilities as Global Head of Oversight and COO UK, AXA IM Core. She joined the firm in 2007 and has held roles including Head of Hedge Funds Operations, Deputy COO of Core Investments, and Member of the UK Executive Committee.

  • Technology, healthcare, and climate-focused venture capital firm B Capital has appointed Timur Akazhanov as a General Partner. He joins the firm, which was established in 2015 by ex-Facebook Co-Founder Eduardo Saverin and Bain Capital’s Raj Ganguly, from H.I.G. Capital, where he was a Managing Director.

  • Baird Capital, a US-based private equity and venture capital firm, has appointed Daina Spedding as a Director in the Global Private Equity team, where she will focus on sourcing investments. She joins the London office from BGF, where she was an investor, and previously held roles at Blue Coast Capital and PwC.

  • Florida-based digital infrastructure investment firm DigitalBridge has hired Yoshiaki Fujimori as a Senior Executive Advisor based in Tokyo. He is currently Chairman of Oracle Japan and holds board positions at Takeda Pharmaceuticals and Boston Scientific. Previously, he spent five years as President and CEO of LIXIL Group Corporation, a Japanese group of companies that manufactures building materials, plumbing fixtures, and housing equipment.

  • Frazier Healthcare Partners has hired John Smither and Jim Williams as Senior Advisors in the Life Sciences division. Smither was previously CFO of Arcutis Biotherapeutics, leading the company’s successful IPO and subsequent follow-on financings. Williams was most recently CIO of the J. Paul Getty Trust in Los Angeles, which provides funding for Getty’s museums, conservation projects, library, and grant program. Frazier Life Sciences recently closed its 11th healthcare-focused growth buyout fund, raising $2.3bn in six months.

  • Investcorp has promoted Mashaal AlJomaih to CEO of Investcorp Saudi Arabia, replacing Yasser Bajsair who has retired. AlJomaih was previously Deputy CEO of Saudi Arabia and a Managing Director in the Private Wealth team. He joined Investcorp in 2022 from BNP Paribas and previously held roles at JP Morgan Chase and Arcapita.

  • Jerome Foulon has been promoted to Global Head of Commercial Real Estate at Texas-based Lone Star Funds, following the retirement of André Collin. Foulon joined the firm in 2018 and has recently been a Senior Managing Director for Global Origination. Before joining Lone Star, he was a Managing Director in PSP Investments’ Real Estate division. The firm’s most recent fund, Lone Star Real Estate Fund VII, closed with $2.7bn raised in September 2024.

  • UK-based Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners has hired Hilkka Komulainen as Global Head of Sustainability and Impact. She joins the London Office from Aegon UK, a DC pensions provider, where she established and led the responsible investment team and oversaw Aegon’s climate and stewardship effort.

  • VSS Capital, a private investment firm focusing on healthcare, education, and business services, has promoted Trent Hickman, Patrick Turner, Andrew Goscinski, and David Fann to Partners. Hickman joined the firm in 1999 and will be Co-Managing Partner alongside Jeffrey Stevenson. Turner and Goscinski have been promoted to Senior Managing Directors, while Fann will remain in his current position as Senior Managing Director and Head of Investor Relations.

  • Healthcare and technology-focused private equity firm Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe has hired Bill Bowman, Bala Girisaballa, and Lawrence Miller as Operating Partners. Bowman was previously Chief Information Security Officer at fintech company Emburse, while Girisaballa joins from Vista Equity Partners, where he was a Managing Director. Miller joins from Wilshire, a global provider of investment indices, where he was Chief Technology Officer.
