Easterly Asset Management has appointed John Carbone as Senior Vice President of Institutional Sales. Before joining Easterly, Carbone was a Senior Vice President and Head of Retirement Investment Solutions with Alger.
Miami-based wealth manager GenTrust has elected Suzanne Peck as its first President. She was most recently the Head of Investments for Private Wealth at Neuberger Berman and previously served as the Head of BlackRock’s Endowments and Foundations business for seven years after an 18-year stint at Goldman Sachs.
Northern Trust Asset Management has appointed Naoto Komoro to lead its asset management business in Japan. Reporting to John McCareins, Head of International, and Bert Rebelo, Head of Institutional Client Group, Asia Pacific, Komoro will also continue in his current role as Head of Institutional Client Group, Japan. Before joining Northern Trust in 2007, he worked at Mizuho Trust & Banking Co.
Global alternative investment firm Partners Group has opened an office in Hong Kong, its seventh in Asia. Henry Chui will lead the office, in addition to his role as Head of Private Wealth APAC. His team’s priority will be expanding their private wealth client base by adding strategic distribution partners locally. Partners Group first established its presence in Asia in 2004 with the opening of an office in Singapore, its regional headquarters.
Prime Value Asset Management, an Australia-based multi-family office, has appointed Mark Jordan as Head of Distribution, based in Sydney. He will focus on the firm’s Australian equity small cap capability. He joins from Magellan Asset Management where he was most recently Head of Retail with oversight of the retail distribution team and implementation of strategy. Prime Value invests in private equity, real estate, and infrastructure.
Ritholtz Wealth Management, a New York-based investment adviser, has appointed Callie Cox as Chief Market Strategist. Before joining Ritholtz, Cox was an Investment Analyst at social investing platform eToro. She has also held investment strategy and research roles at Ally, LPL Financial, and First Citizens Bank, after starting her career as a reporter at Bloomberg covering US stock and options markets.
GPs
Alternatives giant Apollo Global Management has hired Roger Kempink as Partner in London, where he will be Lead Product Specialist focused on private credit and direct lending globally. Before this, Kempink was at Park Square Capital for over a decade, most recently as Partner and Head of Investor Relations, and he has also worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Nomura, and Lehman Brothers.
The Carrington Companies, a Connecticut-based holding company whose primary businesses include asset management, real estate, and mortgages, has promoted Brett Wilbur to EVP, Chief Information Officer. Wilbur joined in 2006 as Associate Director in Carrington Capital Management, the firm's hedge fund arm.
Los Angeles-based credit-focused Crescent Capital Group has named Christopher Wright as President, Joseph Viola as Chairman of Operating Committee, and appointed Jason Breaux to the Operating Committee. Wright was the Managing Director and Head of Private Credit, and will continue his roles on Investment, Operating, and Executive Committees. Viola was the Chief Operating Officer and will continue on the Executive Committee. Breaux is the Managing Director and CEO and will remain on the Investment Committees and the Executive Committee.
Trez Capital, a Vancouver-based commercial real estate investor, is relocating its western US operations to Phoenix, Arizona, led by Brody Toigo, Senior Managing Director, US origination.
