January 22, 2024 (Preqin News) – A round-up of last week's people moves at LPs and GPs:

LPs

  • Theresa Taylor has been re-elected as President, Board of Administration at CalPERS. Taylor, in her third term on the board and second as president, was first elected to her seat in 2015. She currently serves as the Chair of the fund’s Board Governance Committee, as well as Vice Chair of the Investment Committee, and as a member of the Finance & Administration, Pension & Health Benefits, and the Performance, Compensation & Talent Management Committees.

    David Miller has been re-elected as Vice President. Miller is serving his second term on the board and was first elected in 2017. He currently serves as Chair of both the Investment and Risk & Audit Committees, and Vice Chair of both the Board Governance and Finance & Administration committees. He also serves on the Pension & Health Benefits Committee.

  • Bermuda-headquartered bank and wealth manager Butterfield has promoted Michael Neff to Group Chief Operating Officer (COO). Neff, who joined Butterfield in 2011 as Group Head of Asset Management, has served as Managing Director of Bermuda and International Wealth since 2018.

  • Federated Hermes has appointed Lisa Ravlo to the newly created role of Private Markets Director for the Nordic region. She previously worked for Barclays Investment Bank in both London and Paris. The firm’s Private Markets division comprises Private Equity, Private Debt, Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Natural Capital products.

GPs

  • GP stakes investor Armen has appointed Yves Soyfer as Senior Managing Director based in Miami. Soyfer, who has also been appointed to Armen’s Investment Committee, was previously Managing Director at Emigrant Partners and has also worked at global investment bank Exotix Partners, Mizuho International, Royal Bank of Scotland, and Deutsche Bank.

  • Private debt firm Arrow Global Group has appointed Robert Leary as Chair of its Board of Directors. Leary’s previous positions include Chief Executive Officer (CEO) roles at ING Investment Management, Nuveen, and The Olayan Group. He is currently a Non-Executive Director at Citizens Financial Group, Intact Financial Group, and Voya Financial.

  • Alternative investment advisor Atalaya Capital Management has announced the arrival of Jeff Fields as President of its equipment-backed lending strategy Atalaya Leasing. Before joining Atalaya, he was CEO of Chesswood Capital Management. He previously spent 22 years at RBC Capital Markets, where he led multiple business units across asset classes.

  • European private debt specialist Beechbrook Capital has appointed Richard Smart as Managing Director, based in the UK. Smart joins from NatWest, where he spent 22 years, most recently as Head of UK and Financing Solutions for the regions and London.

  • Services and infrastructure-focused private equity firm Bernhard Capital Partners has promoted Chris Dillon to Partner. He is a member of the firm’s Investment Committee and is active on several portfolio company boards. The firm also announced that Julius Bedford and Patrick Bernhard have been promoted to Managing Director, while Matt Kowalczyk has been promoted to Vice President, and Trevor Sansone to Senior Associate.

  • Capital solutions provider The Cantilever Group has appointed Ben Drylie-Perkins as Managing Director and Head of Investments. He was most recently Managing Director at private markets investment firm Grafine Partners. Drylie-Perkins previously held alternative asset management-focused advisor roles at Goldman Sachs and Barclays.

  • Lower middle market private equity firm Capstreet has promoted Kirk Harrell from Senior Vice President, Talent to Chief Talent Officer. Harrell joined Houston-based Capstreet in January 2022 from Focus Search Partners, where he was a Managing Director. He was previously a Managing Director at Taylor Winfield, which was acquired by Focus Search Partners.

  • Investment manager Cordillera Investment Partners has appointed Rachel Levi as Head of Investor Relations, based in New York. She was most recently Managing Director at Cowen Investment Management, before which she was at Hoplite Capital Management, ultimately as Head of Investor Relations. Previous roles include positions on the investor relations teams at Marshall Wace and Karsch Capital Management.

  • US-Based private equity firm Garnett Station Partners has hired Damola Adamolekun as Operating Partner. Most recently, he served as CEO of restaurant chain PF Chang and previously was Partner at private equity firm Paulson & Co.

  • Private credit manager Golub Capital has appointed Andrea Picard as Co-Head of Global Institutional Sales. Picard, who takes up the role in March, joins from BlackRock where she spent more than a decade in institutional sales leadership roles, most recently as Head of its US pensions business. She joins Michele Joyeux as Co-Head of Global Institutional Sales.

  • London-headquartered credit fund manager Hayfin Capital Management has announced that Jack Richardson, Principal, Partner Solutions will be permanently based at its new representative office in the Dubai International Financial Centre. He will work with Camilla Coriani, Managing Director, Partner Solutions, who is responsible for overseeing efforts in the region.

  • Credit-focused asset manager Hildene Capital Management has recruited Jason Schechter as Head of Capital Markets. Schechter joins from Jefferies, where he was Global Head of Collaterized Loan Obligation (CLO) Origination and US CLO Trading. He was previously Global Head of CLO Trading and Co-Head of CLO Origination at UBS, and has also worked at Lehman Brothers, Barclays, Morgan Stanley, and Greenwich NatWest.

  • Private equity firm KSL Capital Partners announced that Kevin Neher has joined the firm as a Partner and Co-Head of Strategic Operations. He joins travel and leisure-focused KSL from McKinsey & Company, where he served as a Senior Partner and founded the company’s Denver office during a 17-year career.

  • Nuveen Private Capital’s European and US asset management companies, Arcmont Asset Management and Churchill Asset Management, have appointed Bonsoo Koo as Head of Business Development for Korea. He joins from Evercore, where he worked within the Private Funds Group.

  • London-based firm Permira has announced the promotion of David Hirschmann, Head of Private Credit, and Ariadna Stefanescu, Head of Liquid Credit, to Co-Heads of Permira Credit. Hirschmann, who joined Permira in 2015, previously worked for Babson Capital Europe as Managing Director, as well as being a member of the Private Debt Investment Committee. Stefanescu has prior experience at JP Morgan in the Leveraged Finance and High Yield Capital Market teams.

  • Global investment firm Sixth Street has announced the appointment of Marcos Alvarado as Head of US Real Estate. Prior to Sixth Street, Alvarado was President and Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Real Estate firm Safehold, as well as Head of Acquisitions for US-based firm Cadre.
