A round-up of last week’s people moves at LPs and GPs around the world

LPs

  • Gresham Partners, a wealth management firm based in Chicago, has promoted Irene Zhang to Investment Director. She joined in 2020 and in recent years has sourced and led several investments in the firm’s private portfolio. In her new role, she will be responsible for sourcing opportunities, conducting due diligence, and maintaining relationships. Before joining Gresham, Zhang worked in PwC’s deals practice.

  • Chicago-headquartered Northern Trust Wealth Management has promoted Glenda Pedroso to Head of Banking and Specialized Services and Michael Bracci to President of the East Region. Pedroso will lead a new function that combines lending and liquidity solutions with specialized services for fund sponsors. She was formerly President of the East Region, first joining in 1995.

  • Plurimi, a wealth manager based in London, has hired Marcus Honig as Head of Wholesale Distribution, responsible for broadening access to funds across UK intermediaries, securing distribution, and expanding the reach of the Discretionary Portfolio Management offering. He joins from River Global Investors, where he spent the last eight months as Head of Sales, Wholesale.

  • Wealth manager Rothschild & Co has appointed Simon Marrison as Managing Director and Head of Financial Sponsors, Australia. He was previously a Managing Director at Citi, leading the financial sponsors business in Australia and New Zealand.

  • Wealth manager SEI Investments Management has added Leila Samara as Client Relationship Director of Defined Contribution. She will be responsible for managing client relationships within the Master Trust and joins from Fidelity International, where she recently served in senior product management. Before that, she held roles at Mercer, Barclays, and Willis Towers Watson.

  • Atlanta-based SignatureFD has appointed Peter Nesvold to its Board of Directors. He is Managing Partner of Nesvold Capital Partners, a merchant bank that invests in financial services companies, and is also an Adjunct Professor at Fordham University's Gabelli School of Business, lecturing on M&A and leveraged buyouts.

GPs

  • 3i Infrastructure has announced that Bernardo Sottomayor has become sole Head of European Infrastructure, following the departure of Scott Mosely. They were both previously Co-Heads of the department. Sottomayor joined 3i in 2015, and formerly held roles at Antin Infrastructure Partners, Deutsche Bank, and Citigroup.

  • Adams Street Partners has opened a new office in Toronto, its first in Canada and the thirteenth worldwide. The office will be led by Investor Relations Principal Colin Miller, who joined in August last year from Fiera Capital, where he was Head of Canadian Institutional Business Development.

  • Swedish private capital firm EQT has appointed Per Franzén as CEO, succeeding Christian Sinding who has held the role since 2019. Sinding will continue as Institutional Partner and Chair of the Global Investment Forum and newly formed EQT Council. Franzén has been at EQT since 2007 and is currently Head of Private Capital Europe & North America and Deputy Managing Partner. His will take the new role in May.

  • UK-headquartered mid-market private equity firm Inflexion has appointed Ben Meyer as Partner and Head of North America, leading a new office in New York. He joins from Hg, where he has spent the last five years as a Partner helping the firm to open and build its US presence.

  • Texas-based upstream energy investor Lime Rock Partners has promoted Benjamin Burns to Managing Director. He joined in 2014 as an Associate from Barclays. Lime Rock’s latest fund, Lime Rock Resources VI, launched earlier this year, according to Preqin data.

  • Hedge fund Ninety One has appointed Samantha Cleyn as Head of Institutional, Canada, based in Montreal. She joins from BMO Global Asset Management, where she was Managing Director, Head of Institutional Sales & Service and was responsible for leading the firm’s Canadian institutional business.

  • Ed Ho has joined private debt firm Park Cities Asset Management as Head of Business Development and Investor Relations in Dallas, Texas. He was previously a Managing Director - Business Development at Arena Investors, where he co-led North America capital raising for special situations and opportunistic platforms. Before that, he was a Partner at Mercury Capital Advisors.

  • Real estate investment firm Peachtree Group has appointed Michael Brunner as EVP, Credit Investments. He will be based in Atlanta. He has experience in securitized and commercial real estate finance and was most recently a Director at Atlas SP Partners.

  • Private debt fund of funds Star Mountain Capital has hired Jared Cohen as a Managing Director on the Investment Team, focusing on sourcing, analyzing, and managing private market investments on the West Coast of the US. He previously held roles at Fortress Investment Group and Merrill Lynch.

  • Mid-market European private equity manager Trilantic Europe has appointed Guillaume Bayol as Partner and Head of its Energy Transition fund. He joins in London from Oaktree Capital, where he has worked for the past 16 years, latterly as Managing Director in the GFI Energy Group.

  • Asset-backed private investment firm Veld Capital has appointed Adeeb Ahmed as Managing Director, Head of Investor Relations and Business Development. He joins from EJF Capital where he was responsible for Europe and Asia business development.
