A round-up of last week’s people moves at LPs and GPs around the world

LPs

  • Scottish investment firm abrdn has appointed Jason Windsor as group CEO. He took the role of interim CEO in May after his predecessor Stephen Bird stepped down. Before his interim role, he was Chief Financial Officer (CFO) from October 2023 and was formerly CFO at Persimmon Homes and Aviva.

  • Federated Hermes has opened its first office in Switzerland and appointed Pascal Weber as Director – Business Development for Switzerland, based in the new Zurich location. He will focus on expanding the third-party business, with particular emphasis on the Swiss wholesale market, and will work alongside Michael Kalenberg. Weber was previously Head of Business Development and Client Coverage at Credit Suisse.

  • Franklin Templeton has expanded its US Institutional team with the appointments of Todd Bitzer, Emily Cox, and Andre Cuerington as Senior Vice Presidents. They will be responsible for building, growing, and managing partnerships with existing and prospective institutional clients. Bitzer was most recently a Managing Director at Lucid Management and Capital Partners. Cox, who will also serve as an Alternative Specialist, joins from Tetragon, where she worked in business development. Cuerington was formerly a Managing Director for Makena Capital Management’s client strategy group.

  • Chicago-based Northern Trust has announced several changes to its leadership and operational team. Peter B. Cherecwich has moved into the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer, focusing on ensuring operational excellence and resiliency, risk management, and controls. Teresa Parker, former President, EMEA, will defer a planned retirement and take Cherecwich’s previous role as President of Asset Servicing. Jason Tyler moves from CFO to President of Wealth Management, with David W. Fox Jr taking over as CFO. Steven L. Fradkin, who has held several leadership roles including President of Asset Servicing, CFO, and President of Wealth Management, becomes Vice Chairman.

  • Multi-family office Praxis has promoted Joan Johnson to Head of Private Wealth & Corporate Services, British Virgin Islands (BVI). She will oversee the day-to-day operation of the BVI office and support the development of the Group’s BVI offering globally. She joined Praxis in February 2023 and previously served as a Trust Manager at TMF Group.

  • Middle-market private equity firm Amulet Capital, which focuses on the healthcare sector, has appointed Michael Keaveney as Partner, Head of Investor Relations, to oversee the firm’s capital formation, fundraising, and investor engagement initiatives. Previously, Keaveney was a Partner at Capstone Partners, as well as working at Mercury Capital Advisors, Atlantic Pacific Capital, Performance Equity Management, and Credit Suisse.

  • Pre-seed venture capital firm Bee Partners has promoted Alejandra Vergara to Principal. She joined the company full-time in 2022 after an MBA internship and leads Generative AI go-to-market strategies. She was previously a Portfolio Manager at Falcom Asset Management.

  • Virginia-based Capital Square, a sponsor of tax-advantaged real estate investments and an active developer and manager of housing communities, has appointed Jessica Correnti as Senior Vice President, National Accounts. She will oversee the support and nurturing of Capital Square’s existing relationships with broker-dealers and registered investment advisors, as well as lead the company’s pursuit of new relationships nationwide. Before this new role, she was the Director, National Accounts for Peachtree Group, and a Senior Vice President with Waypoint Real Estate Investments.

  • The Carlyle Group has appointed Anuj Poddar to the newly created role of Co-Head of Global Portfolio Solutions for Asia, focused on India and Southeast Asia. He will be based in Mumbai. Poddar joins Carlyle from Bajaj Electricals, where he was CEO, and he previously worked for Viacom18 Media in India and spent nearly a decade with KPMG and Arthur Andersen.

  • Private equity firm CREO Capital Partners, specializing in food and consumer industry buyouts, has relocated its headquarters to Miami while maintaining its existing offices in Denver and San Francisco. The move intends to capitalize on Miami’s emergence as a financial center in the US.

  • Beverly, Massachusetts-based Easterly Asset Management has hired Genna Brounstein and Jennifer Cahill into the newly created positions of Senior Vice Presidents of Private Market Sales. They will focus on growing the firm’s portfolio of Alternative Solutions as part of its private markets distribution team. Brounstein joins from Rockefeller Asset Management and held roles at Brookfield Asset Management’s Private Funds Group and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Cahill joins from Fasanara Capital and previously worked at Investcorp, Harbert Management Corporation, Atlantic Investment Management, Protégé Partners, and Pequot Capital Management.

  • Mid-market private equity firm ECI Partners, which specializes in management buyouts, buyins, and minority deals, has made four new hires as it continues to deploy its £1bn ECI 12 fund. Chris Mockford joins as Investor Relations Director from pan-European special situations fund Zetland Capital. Ludvig Hamilton joins as Investment Associate after previously working at Houlihan Lokey and Deloitte Corporate Finance. Christy Welsh joins as Origination Manager from Deloitte, and Sam Veevers joins as an Analyst from Houlihan Lokey.

  • Private equity firm FalconPoint Partners, which focuses on North American mid-market companies in the business services and industrial sectors, has appointed Adam Gross as Partner, Head of Business Development and Capital Markets. He will be responsible for sourcing new investment opportunities as well as overseeing financing strategy and execution for the firm and its portfolio companies. Gross was a Managing Director at Intermediate Capital Group (ICG) and previously spent 15 years at Barclays.

  • Zurich-headquartered GAM Investments, with AUM of CHF 19.0bn, has hired Andrea Astone as Client Director in Geneva, to focus on wholesale clients in French- and Italian-speaking Switzerland. He joins from Columbia Threadneedle, where he was Head of Global Strategic Relationships and Head of Responsible Investment Distribution.

  • New York-based private equity firm GenNx360, which invests in middle-market business services and industrial companies, has promoted Rishi Verma from Principal to Partner and Peter White from Vice President to Principal.

  • London-based ICG, which has an AUM of $101bn, has appointed Alan Isenberg as Global Head of Marketing and Client Relations, based in New York – succeeding Andreas Mondovits, who will become a Senior Advisor in Singapore. Isenberg joins from Angelo Gordon where he was Global Head of the Client Partnership Group, having also served as a member of the Partnership Advisory Board. Previously, he was Global Head of Product Strategy and Marketing at Neuberger Berman.

  • Neuberger Berman has hired Jeff Blazek as Managing Director and Co-Chief Investment Officer for Multi-Asset Strategies, alongside Erik Knutzen. Blazek will also co-chair the Public-Private Investment Committee and the Asset Allocation Committee and sit on the Investment Risk Committee. He was previously a Partner and New York Office Lead at Cambridge Associates.

  • Pantheon has appointed Arnab Mazumdar as Partner and Chief Data & Innovation Officer in London. He will lead the digital transformation strategy, including the firm’s data capabilities and analytics. Mazumdar joins from BlackRock, where he held several leadership positions including Chief Digital Officer for BlackRock Private Markets and Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of the Multi-Asset Solutions Group. Christian D’Amico has also joined as Managing Director and Head of German Speaking Europe from Hamilton Lane, while Brian Hanson joins as Managing Director in the US Private Wealth division from Apollo.

  • Real assets manager Pennybacker Capital Management has hired Carey Doyle as Managing Director of Capital Formation. She will lead capital formation efforts across the east region of the United States and Canada and will be based in the firm's New York office. She was previously a Director at Lazard.

  • Richard Oldfield has been appointed as Group Chief Executive of Schroders, succeeding Peter Harrison later this year. Oldfield joined as CFO in October last year from PwC, where he held senior roles including Network Vice Chairman and Global Markets Leader.

  • Private equity firm Stephens Group has promoted Anthony Porcelli to Vice President and Bradley Ong to Senior Associate. The firm has also hired Jacob Ham and Nicholas F. AmRhein as Investment Associates, and Marco Schooley as a Value Creation Associate.
