February 12, 2024 (Preqin News) – A round-up of last week’s people moves at LPs and GPs:

LPs

  • Singaporean sovereign wealth fund GIC has announced that Deputy Group Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Tay Lim Hock, and Deputy Group CIO and Director of GIC’s Integrated Strategies Group (ISG) Lim Kee Chong are to step down.

    Deputy COO Sam Kim will be appointed COO and join the organization’s senior management body, the Group Executive Committee (GEC). Bryan Yeo, CIO for Public Equities, will be appointed Deputy Group CIO and oversee ISG as Director. Mark Ong, Head of Asia-Pacific Equities, will take over from Yeo as CIO for Public Equities. Deputy CIO for Real Estate, Goh Chin Kiong, will be appointed CIO for Real Estate, taking over from Lee Kok Sun who is retiring from GIC. Boon Chin Hau will be appointed Deputy CIO for Infrastructure. All changes come into effect from April 1, 2024.

  • Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS) has named Celine Chiovitti as Chief Pension Officer. Chiovitti, who joined OMERS in 2013, was most recently Executive Vice President and Head of Pensions. Before joining OMERS, she held roles in public service, including as a Division Head at the City of Toronto responsible for pension, payroll, and benefits delivery.

  • UK-based asset manager Quilter Investors has appointed Adrian Todd as a Senior Manager Research Analyst in an expansion of its manager research team. Todd joins from Investec Wealth & Investment where he led on alternatives funds. He previously held roles at Coutts, including discretionary portfolio management and fund research.

GPs

  • Alternative asset manager Aperture Investors has announced that Louis Molinari has joined the firm as Chief Marketing Officer, responsible for global fundraising. He joins from Barclays Capital, where his roles included Global Head of Capital Introductions and Hedge Fund Consulting. He was previously President at Wachovia, Managing Partner at Metropolitan West Financial, and Managing Director at Merrill Lynch.

  • Apollo Global Management has named Harry Seekings as Co-Head of Infrastructure. He joins from InfraRed Capital Partners, where he held senior roles including Managing Partner and Head of Infrastructure. At Apollo, he will work alongside Olivia Wassenaar, Head of Sustainability and Infrastructure. The appointment is effective March 11, 2024.

  • Columbus, Ohio-based private equity real estate investment firm CREC Real Estate has appointed Kurt Gatterdam as Controller. He was most recently Chief Financial Officer at NAI Ohio Equities, prior to which he was Vice President of Finance for Fillmore Capital Partners.

  • Digital infrastructure-focused alternatives asset manager DigitalBridge Group has appointed Christian Belady as a Senior Advisor. He joins the Boca Raton-headquartered firm from Microsoft, where he was most recently Vice President of Data Center Research and Development for its Cloud Infrastructure Organization.

  • Credit manager First Eagle Alternative Credit has announced that President Chris Flynn is to leave the New York-headquartered firm in early 2025. He immediately becomes FEAC Co-President alongside CIO Jim Fellows, who will become President permanently after Flynn’s departure.

  • Climate-focused investment firm Galvanize Climate Solutions has recruited Alex Munoz as Vice President of Asset Management for the firm’s sustainable real estate investment strategy. Munoz, who will be based in New York City, was most recently a Principal at GI Partners. Previous roles include positions at Goldman Sachs and PGIM Real Estate.

  • Global alternative asset manager ICG has appointed Damon Fletcher as Managing Director in its APAC Credit Fund Management operation, based in Sydney. He was most recently Executive Director at Siemens, where he was responsible for the firm’s Australia and New Zealand leveraged loan portfolio. He has previously held roles at Crédit Industriel et Commercial, National Australia Bank, and Investec Bank.

  • Cybersecurity private equity firm Option3 has announced that it is to create a new Capital Board which will be chaired by Mark Freitas, the founder of insurance broker Mark Edward Partners. The New York and Reston, Virginia-based firm’s Board will be comprised of financial industry professionals, details of whom will be announced later.

  • Manulife Investment Management has announced that Anne Valentine Andrews will join the firm on March 4 as Global Head of Private Markets. She joins from BlackRock, where she spent the past nine years, most recently as Managing Director, Global Head of Infrastructure and Real Estate. Previous roles include Co-Head and COO for Morgan Stanley’s infrastructure platform and positions at Macquarie Bank in Melbourne and New York.

  • TPG has appointed Scott Lebovitz as a Partner and Head of Infrastructure for its climate investing platform, TPG Rise Climate. Lebovitz joins from Goldman Sachs where he spent more than 25 years, most recently as a Partner and Global Co-Head and Co-CIO of Infrastructure Investing in the firm’s Asset Management Division. He will join TPG in the second half of 2024 and will be based in New York.

  • Infrastructure investment firm Vision Ridge Partners has promoted Rob van Es to Partner and Christina Scalzo to Managing Director. Van Es, who joined Colorado-headquartered Vision Ridge in January 2015, was previously Strategy Senior Manager, Mergers & Acquisitions at Accenture. Scalzo was previously Vice President of M&A and Strategy at Vistra Corp before joining Vision Ridge in September 2022.
