A round-up of last week’s people moves at LPs and GPs around the world
LPs
The UK arm of Bordier & Cie, a Swiss private banking group, has promoted Ian Heap to CEO, succeeding Jamie Berry, who founded the UK arm in 1981. Heap was Director of Portfolio Management and a Board Director for the past five years, and before that, was Director of Platform Management.
British Business Bank has appointed Leandros Kalisperas as its first Chief Investment Officer, joining in January 2025. He is currently Chief Investment Officer at the West Yorkshire Pension Fund, and will take on responsibility for the entirety of the investment business, which includes British Business Investments and British Patient Capital.
US-based Brown Advisory has hired Patrick Aylwin as Northern Europe Institutional Sales Director. The firm currently manages $2.3bn of client AUM in the Northern Europe region, out of total AUM of $30.2bn. Aylwin joins from Perpetual Asset Management, where he was Head of Nordics and responsible for managing relationships across Scandinavia and the Netherlands.
Canadian public pension fund CPP Investments has promoted Garret Gerow to Principal and Chief of Staff, Real Assets. He has worked across Toronto, Hong Kong, and Sydney, and will move to the London office in January 2025. Gerow joined as an Infrastructure and Private Equity Analyst in 2015.
Florida-based wealth management firm Insigneo has hired Esteban Diaz as a Senior Vice President focusing on high-net-worth clients in Latin America. He was previously a VP at Merrill Lynch, where he worked for over 11 years, and Credit Suisse.
Connecticut-based NewEdge Wealth, which manages ultra-high-net-worth family wealth, and institutional client capital, has hired Christopher Ayer as Principal, in the firm’s first office in New Hampshire. He specializes in wealth protection and tax mitigation strategies for closely held businesses. He was previously SVP, Wealth Management at Pallas Capital Advisors. Anne-Michael McGrath has also joined as Vice President of Client Service from Pallas Capital Advisors, where she was an Operations Manager.
Prudential Financial has appointed Jacques Chappuis as President and CEO, succeeding David Hunt who will stay on as chairman of PGIM until July 31, 2025. Chappuis was most recently the Co-Head of Morgan Stanley Investment Management and a member of the Morgan Stanley Management Committee, and before that held senior roles at the Carlyle Group and Citigroup.
GPs
French asset manager Amundi has promoted Florian Neto to Managing Director and Head of Infrastructure for Asia, based in Hong Kong. He was Head of Investment, Hong Kong & Taiwan, and Head of Multi Asset, Asia since 2022. Amundi, which has €2.16tn in AUM, is currently raising one infrastructure fund that has geographic exposure to Asia, according to Preqin data.
New York-based private equity firm Arsenal Capital Partners has hired Joshua Schultz as an Operating Partner in the Healthcare team, focusing on pharma services and medical technology investment strategies. He was most recently CEO of life sciences analytics company Cytel and was previously an SVP at Parexel International.
Alternative asset manager Blackstone has announced a series of leadership changes within the Tactical Opportunities group. Chris James has been promoted from Chief Operating Officer in the group to Global Head of Tactical Opportunities, succeeding David Blitzer who will scale back his role to become Chairman. Jasvinder Khaira has been promoted to Head of Tactical Opportunities Americas and Qasim Abbas will be Head of Tactical Opportunities International. They were both previously Partners in the group.
New York-headquartered KKR has appointed Georgia Rankin as an Executive Advisor, based in London. She will work with the European Private Equity team to bring innovation and executive talent management to portfolio companies and focus on building long-term relationships with CEOs and senior executives. She previously spent over 25 years at Russell Reynolds Associates, where she latterly served as Managing Director and Co-Head of Global Private Equity.
US-based MPE Partners has hired Joshua Liebow as a Principal in Boston. He will also join the board of directors for existing portfolio companies and the deal team. He joins from a 20-year stint at Manulife Investment Management, where he has been Co-Head of the Junior Credit Platform since 2021.
Nuveen Private Capital, a joint venture of Churchill Asset Management and Arcmont Asset Management, has hired Katherine Elmore-Jones as Partner and Head of Private Equity Business Development in Europe, a newly created role. She will partner with European institutional investors to develop tailored private equity solutions. She joins from The Carlyle Group where she was a Managing Director and Partner on the European Investor Relations team.
Real estate firm PRP has hired Jon McAvoy as Chief Investment Officer, overseeing investment, development, and asset management across the Multifamily, Net Lease, Data Centers, and Special Situations sectors. He will be based at the firm’s headquarters in Washington D.C. and joins from Hofman & Associates, where he was Chief Investment Officer. PRP was founded in 2005 and currently has AUM of $6bn.
