Venture Capital Q2 2026: Preqin Quarterly Update

While headline deal value in Q2 2026 remained close to the all-time high from the prior quarter, breakdowns by industry and region reveal concentration in North America and AI

• Global VC deal value reached $224bn in the second quarter of 2026, just below the all-time high of $291bn in Q1 2026

• VC fundraising has marginally improved quarter over quarter since Q4 2025, with almost $30bn raised in Q2 2026, but remains well below historical levels

• Aggregate exit value hit record levels in Q2 2026. We also saw more exits compared with Q1, but exit value was still concentrated in a few VC-backed sales
