REPORT
Alternative Assets in Germany

By Preqin

The reliability of its infrastructure is one of Germany's biggest draws as an investment location. Indeed, in the past five years the asset class has extended its dominance over private real estate and taken an ever-larger stake of private capital fundraising in the country. And 2020 was no different, with infrastructure accounting for a third of Germany-based private capital fundraising. With the government announcing plans to reach carbon neutrality by 2050, infrastructure's appeal, and the opportunities it could present, look set to stay.

In this report, we consider the recent trends and developments in the German alternatives market and explore the deals, fundraising, and top performing funds in the space.
