Venture capital deal activity in Southeast Asia is soaring. In 2020, 407 venture transactions were completed in ASEAN, valued at a combined $8.2bn. Despite the uncertain deal-making environment brought on by the pandemic, this sum is the second-highest figure in the past 10 years and just shy of the previous record of $8.8bn traded in 2018.
