Venture Capital Q3 2024: Preqin Quarterly Update

US rate cut gives hope, but fundraising and deal-making still in the doldrums.

• Fundraising remains soft, with 240 funds raising $26bn, continuing the trend of weak fundraising through 2024

• Exits fell over the quarter to 201 at an aggregate value of $19bn, dragged down by information technology

• Deals reached 3,919 with an aggregate value of $52bn for the third quarter, down from the previous quarter
