Family offices across the globe, and especially in APAC and the Middle East, are increasingly turning to alternative investments. While this shift offers advantages such as portfolio diversification and potential higher returns for family offices, it also presents challenges in their relationship with external managers.
Family offices typically have small teams, which limits their ability to carry out extensive due diligence on potential managers. Additionally, family offices usually commit smaller amounts of capital, which can reduce their leverage in negotiating lower fees. Some family offices have been innovative in getting past these challenges.
Join Preqin experts Angela Lai (VP, Head of APAC & Valuations, Research Insights) and Harsha Narayan (AVP, Senior Writer), as they come together with family offices across the APAC and Middle East regions to discuss innovation, manager selection and fee transparency in private capital markets.
