What is changing?
Company Intelligence venture capital deals data is being transformed to provide a consolidated view of venture capital investment and exit deal types. This newly consolidated VC search will be merged with the buyout search into one single Private Equity search.
How the search works won’t change, and you will still be able to apply your usual criteria. Plus, you’ll see a new Strategy filter that enables you to refine your results by investment strategy (i.e., buyout, venture capital).
The current deal type filter will also be enhanced to include the option to further narrow down your search by investments and exits.
This consolidation will be reflected in our deal charts as well, with the merge of buyout and venture capital deal charts into Private Equity charts.
Why is this changing?
These enhancements will enable you to search for deals faster as you won’t need to replicate the query within two different searches or charts. You’ll be able to view and research different investment strategies at the same time within the same search or the same chart. The consolidation of buyout and venture capital deals will also provide a holistic view of the market.
What if I need to source only one strategy and deal type?
If you’re interested in buyout or venture capital deals only, you can select your preferred investment strategy and deal type via the new Strategy filter and Deal type filter.
How will it affect my workflow?
It is important to note that the deal search enhancements will not disrupt your workflow – we’ve made the changes to improve your experience. Once the consolidated search is live, you can carry on with your searches as usual by selecting the relevant filters. The same filters will be available for the consolidated deal charts.
Exporting data won’t be affected either. Your exported spreadsheet will have a strategy column to reflect the respective filter.
When can I expect this to go live?
This change will become effective from late January 2024.
