About

YMCA Retirement Fund is a multiemployer defined-benefit plan covering all eligible employees of participating YMCA chapters throughout the United States. The private sector pension fund provides participants with retirement, disability, and death benefits. It is located in New York City. YMCA is a Geneva-based international youth organization founded in London in 1844 by George Williams as the Young Men's Christian Association. Its main focus is on community building through youth empowerment. The first YMCA in the United States was established in 1851 by Captain Thomas Valentine in Boston, which now has thousands of separate organizations and branches across the country.
