Westpac Banking Corporation is a bank based in Australia. Formerly known as the Bank of New South Wales, the institution adopted the name Westpac Banking Corporation in 1982. In December 2008, Westpac merged with St.George Bank. The bank provides a broad range of banking and financial services, including consumer, business, institutional banking, and wealth management. Westpac operates primarily in Australia and New Zealand and maintains an international presence with offices in markets such as London, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Westpac’s wealth management activities operate under the BT brand following the realignment of BT Financial Group into its Consumer and Business divisions in 2019.
