About

Western National Insurance Group is a private mutual insurer specializing in property and casualty insurance. It offers products throughout the Midwestern, Northwestern, and Southwestern United States. It was founded as Mutual Creamery and Cheese Factory Fire Insurance Company before changing its name to Western National Mutual Insurance Company in 1970. In 1974, the insurance company acquired Cascade Insurance Company, changing its name to Western National Assurance Company. Its name was eventually changed to Western National Insurance Group as a result of a number of mergers, acquisitions, and affiliations. Now, the insurance group comprises eight regional property and casualty insurance companies; American Freedom Insurance Company; Arizona Automobile Insurance Company; Legacy Insurance Services; Pioneer Specialty Insurance Company; Umialik Insurance Company; Western Home Insurance Company; and Western National Assurance Company.
