West Midlands Pension Fund

West Midlands Pension Fund is a public pension fund located in Wolverhampton, West Midlands. It is the local government pension scheme for local authority employees across the West Midlands area of the UK. The City of Wolverhampton Council is the administering authority for the public pension fund. Participant employers are Birmingham City Council, Metropolitan Borough Councils of Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, Walsall, Coventry City Council, and Wolverhampton City Council. In July 2015, the UK government released its summer budget announcing that it would work with the Local Government Pension Schemes (LGPS) to reform investments. As part of the reform, the government ordered the 89 Local Government Pension Schemes to combine assets into large investment pools. West Midlands Pension Fund is one of 9 LGPS belonging to <a href=https://pro.preqin.com/investor/272370>LGPS Central Pool</a>. In April 2018, the nine local authority pension funds began a phased transition of assets over to <a href=https://pro.preqin.com/investor/272370>LGPS Central Pool</a>. West Midlands Pension Fund incorporates the former employers of the West Midlands Integrated Transport Authority Pension Fund following a merger of the pension funds in November 2019. It also comprises two distinct admitted body sub-funds pertaining to West Midlands Travel Limited (WMTL) and Preston Bus Limited (PBL).Read more ⏷
