About

West Midlands Integrated Transport Authority (WMITA) Pension Fund is administered by Centro who formulate transport strategy and policy for the metropolitan area, incorporating strategic highways, freight, rail, bus and rapid transit networks. The City of Wolverhampton Council is responsible for the management, this Fund is run completely independently of the West Midlands Pension Fund and has its own accounts, membership, literature and identity. In July 2015, the UK government released its summer budget announcing that it would work with the Local Government Pension Schemes (LGPS) to reform investments. As part of the reform, the government ordered the 89 Local Government Pension Schemes to combine Assets into large investment pools. West Midlands Integrated Transport Authority is one of 9 LGPS belonging to LGPS Central Pool. In April 2018, the nine local authority pension funds began a phased transition of assets over to LGPS Central Pool.
