University of North Carolina is a public, multi-campus university dedicated to the service of North Carolina and its people. It encompasses diverse constituent institutions and other educational, research, and public service organizations. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Investment Fund is a corporation established to support the University and its associated foundation and trust by making investments in a wide array of asset classes. The UNC Finance Division, as directed by the board and the president, is responsible for creating a unified budget and administering the university's financial affairs. UNC Management Co. Inc. advises the UNC's board of directors on how the school's endowment funds are invested. The endowment is designed to provide a permanent revenue stream to support scholarships, professorships, departments, and academic programs.
