Effective December 1, 2019, the plan reflects the merger of the Marlborough Hospital Retirement Plan into the UMass Memorial Health Care Pension Plan, with the surviving plan retaining the UMass Memorial Health Care Pension Plan name. The plan sponsor, UMass Memorial Health, is a Massachusetts-based healthcare system formed in 1998 through the merger of Memorial Hospital and the clinical system of the University of Massachusetts, and operates a network of hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities across Central Massachusetts.
