About

TAL is an insurance company based in Australia. It is initially known as TOWER, it demerged into TOWER Australia and TOWER New Zealand in November 2006. In May 2011, Dai-Ichi Life Insurance (Dai-Ichi), one of Japan’s leading life insurers, acquired TOWER Australia and delisted it from the Australian Securities Exchange. It was then renamed TAL in June 2011. It is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Dai-Ichi Life Insurance and serves as Dai-Ichi’s leading platform for expanding in the Asia-Pacific region. The core businesses of TAL include insurance, funds management, superannuation, financial planning, and investment management. In August 2017, TAL appointed Mercer Investments as its consultant for TAL Superannuation and Insurance Fund. In August 2022, TAL completed its acquisition of Westpac Life Insurance Services Limited.
