About

Sterling Capital Funds (“Sterling”) was the U.S.-based fund-of-funds division of Sterling Capital Management, a registered investment adviser founded in 1970. In January 2018, the firm liquidated its hedge fund-of-funds vehicle, Sterling Capital Long/Short Equity Fund, and as such, no longer manages any funds of hedge funds. Sterling was an independently operated subsidiary of BB&T Corporation, one of the nation's largest financial services holding companies. It was headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, with offices in Raleigh; Atlanta, Georgia; Washington, D.C.; San Francisco, California; Richmond, Virginia; and Virginia Beach, Virginia. Sterling provided investment management services to a diversified group of clients, including corporate, public, healthcare, private clients, endowments, foundations, insurance companies, sub-advisory relationships, and managed investment pools across 40 states and 10 countries worldwide.
