About

Established in May 1996 as Small & Medium Industries Development Corporation (SMIDEC), SME Corporation Malaysia (SME Corp. Malaysia) is a government agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development (MED). It is the central coordinating agency (CCA) responsible for overseeing the development of SMEs in Malaysia through policy formulation and strategic implementation. It coordinates and evaluates the progress and effectiveness of SME development programs while providing information and advisory services for SMEs nationwide. The Malaysia-based institution rebranded itself as SME Corp. Malaysia in October 2009. It aims to foster and strengthen cooperation and collaboration between the public and private sectors by forging close partnerships with industry associations and strategic partners.
