About

Established in 1864, Seligman Investments (formerly J. & W. Seligman & Co.) helped finance the westward expansion of the railroads, the construction of the Panama Canal and the launching of urban transit systems. Today the emphasis of its activity is placed on investment management, with a broad selection of investment options being made available to its clients, including fixed income, growth and value equity portfolios. Seligman Investments has been amalgamated into Columbia Management Group, one of the largest investment managers in the world. Seligman Investments manages two funds focusing on new technologies. These funds invest the majority of their capital in listed companies, with a small percentage going to private equity via direct investments and fund investments.
