About

Sears Holdings Pension Plan is a non-contributory defined benefit pension plan covering current and former employees of Sears, and Kmart Holding Corporation, including participating subsidiaries. The private sector pension fund was established in 1944. Sears Holdings Corporation is a retailer in the United States. In March 2005, Sears merged with Kmart and both Sears and Kmart became wholly-owned subsidiaries of Sears Holdings Corporation. In October 2014, Sears Canada de-consolidated and now only operates in two segments namely Kmart and Sears Domestic. In 2019, the pension plan was terminated after the company filed for bankruptcy in 2017.
