About

Ontario Pension Board (OPB) administers the Public Service Pension Plan (PSPP), which is a defined benefit plan sponsored by the government of Ontario. It is one of the oldest pension plans in Canada and traces its history back to the early 1920s. In July of 2016, the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO) was created. Investment Management Corporation of Ontario was created to pool the assets and resources of various Canadian pension funds in order to improve efficiency and investment performance. IMCO operates as Public Service Pension Plan's investment manager, investing the plan’s assets in accordance with OPB’s investment beliefs, policies, and legislative requirements. IMCO invests and reinvests OPB’s assets by following the asset mix outlined in Ontario Pension Board's Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) policy.
