Kaiser Permanente Washington Defined Benefit Plan is a defined benefit pension plan headquartered in Renton, Washington. It provides pension, death, and disability benefits to certain eligible employees of Group Health Cooperative in participating bargaining unit groups, as well as nonunion employees who were participants of the Plan. In December 2015, GHC signed an agreement to be acquired by Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington. It is the main benefit plan of Group Health Cooperative, a member-governed, nonprofit healthcare system that coordinates care and coverage. Founded in 1947 and based in Seattle, Washington, Group Health and its subsidiary health carriers, Group Health Options, Inc. and Kaiser Health Plans, serve the residents of Washington and North Idaho.
