About

K2 Advisors is a Stamford, Connecticut-based fund of hedge funds manager founded in 1994. The firm focuses on the prudent allocation of client capital, supported by a strong emphasis on risk management and portfolio transparency, with the objective of generating consistent, asymmetric returns across varying market environments. K2 employs a diversified range of hedge fund strategies designed to exhibit lower volatility and limited correlation to traditional equity and fixed income markets. Its product offering includes discretionary and non-discretionary customized portfolios, commingled fund of hedge funds vehicles, and hedge fund advisory services. In September 2012, Franklin Templeton agreed to acquire a majority stake in K2 Advisors from TA Associates, with the transaction closing later that year. The deal was structured to enhance Franklin Templeton’s alternatives and multi-asset solutions platform, with the remaining ownership interests acquired over time, resulting in full integration of K2 within the Franklin Templeton organization.
