About

Gartmore Private Equity (GPE) was the private equity arm of UK fund manager Gartmore Group, investing in private equity since 1991. It managed pooled fund of funds vehicles and segregated mandates on behalf of institutional investment clients. In 2006, Gartmore was subject to a management buyout and has subsequently been owned by senior executives and fund managers, together with Hellman & Friedman, one of the world's leading private equity firms. In April 2010 GPE merged with Hermes Private Equity to form an independent fund of funds manager, Hermes GPE.
