About

FINEP (Financiamento de Estudos de Projetos e Programas) is a public agency under Brazil’s Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, dedicated to promoting the country’s scientific and technological development. It provides both reimbursable and non-reimbursable funding to support innovation across all stages of the research and development cycle—from basic research to the commercialization of products and services. FINEP’s initiatives include financing for startups, research institutions, and established companies, as well as support for the creation of technology parks and incubators. Its resources come from various sources, including the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development (FNDCT), and are allocated through public calls or strategic programs aimed at fostering innovation and competitiveness in Brazil.
