DWS Scudder — overview

About

DWS Scudder (previously Scudder Investments) is the US retail brand for Deutsche Asset Management, the asset management division of Deutsche Bank. In Q1 2006, Deutsche Bank announced that Scudder Investments was being rebranded as DWS Scudder. The new name would reflect DeAM's global strategy for its mutual fund business and bring together the firm's US and European mutual fund brands. Following this, DWS Scudder no longer invests in private equity funds. In 2008, DWS Scudder changed its name to DWS Investments and acts as an asset manager.
