About

CPP Investment Board is an investment corporation managed independently of the Canada Pension Plan. CPP is an income program administered by the federal government on behalf of all Canadian provinces and territories (except for Quebec) that pays monthly pensions to retirees who made contributions during their working years. The CPP Investment Board invests CPP contributions that are not required to pay current benefits in a way that maximizes returns without undue risk. The money invested will be needed by the Canada Pension Plan to help pay the pensions of working Canadians who will begin retiring in the years to come. The money invested is divided between equities, bonds, and real return assets, including real estate and infrastructure.
