Columbia Threadneedle Investments is an SEC-registered investment adviser and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ameriprise Financial. The firm was previously two seperate entities, Columbia Management and Threadneedle Investments, however in 2015 the two merged to create Columbia Threadneedle Investments. The firm offers investors access to traditional and alternative mutual fund products. While Columbia Management was established in 1972 its multi-manager entity was created in 2012 as part of a collaborative venture with Blackstone Alternative Asset Management.
