About

Founded in 2000, Berens Capital Management was a global asset manager with a focus on value-oriented investing primarily in long/short equity strategies. The firm invested globally with a specific focus on emerging market managers. Berens Capital Management ran concentrated portfolios with a long-term investment horizon, with a focus on bottoms-up managers buying intrinsically cheap securities. The funds which Berens Capital Management invested in used limited leverage, and the firm did not employ leverage at the portfolio level. Berens clients and consultants utilized the firm’s strategies as a diversified alternatives solution, and to gain emerging markets exposure. In Q1 2016, Berens Capital Management merged its operations with <a href="/user/hf/investor_details.aspx?firmID=11723">Stonewater Capital</a>. In Q2 2018, Berens Capital Management merged with Alternative Investment Group. All fund of hedge funds previously managed by Berens Capital Management are now under the management of Alternative Investment Group.
