The entity was created as part of the restructuring of CAPRE – Caixa de Previdência e Assistência dos Funcionários do Banco do Estado de Pernambuco. Bandeprev provides supplementary retirement benefits to former employees, retirees, and beneficiaries of Bandepe and operates under the regulatory framework of Brazil’s complementary pension system. The entity is sponsored by Banco Bandepe S.A., Banco Santander (Brasil) S.A., and Bandeprev itself. Banco Bandepe S.A. was a Brazilian commercial bank formerly owned by the State of Pernambuco and later incorporated into the Santander Group.
