About

Established in 1995, Avenue Capital Group was founded by Marc Lasry and Sonia E. Gardner. Mr. Lasry and Ms. Gardner had invested in the public and private debt and equity securities of distressed companies across a variety of industries for over two decades. Prior to founding Avenue, Mr. Lasry and Ms. Gardner founded Amroc Investments. Avenue Capital Group is headquartered in New York and launched its first fund of hedge funds vehicle in 2008.
