Allen & Company is a closely held investment bank in New York City which is specializing in finance for media, communications, and technology companies. It makes direct investments as well as private equity fund investments. The firm hosts an annual conference for corporate leaders in Sun Valley and has recently worked with companies such as USA Networks, Vivendi Universal and Universal Studios, BET, and News Corporation, amongst others. It has advised on some of the transactions in the sector's history, including Seagram's combination with Universal Studios, Westinghouse's purchase of CBS, and the acquisition of Capital Cities/ABC by the Walt Disney Company.
