The firm makes primary,secondary and direct co-investments primarily focussing on North America,Europe and Asia. In October 2011, Northern Trust combined its private equity and hedge fund platforms to create a new unit called Northern Trust Alternatives Group (NTAG). In June 2015, NTAG was rebranded as 50 South Capital Advisors, with the firm's new name reflecting the address of its Chicago headquarters.
