About

1794 Commodore Funds was previously a boutique fund of hedge funds manager that drew upon the resources, personnel and back office of a multi-billion dollar asset management firm and long-established family office. It was a joint venture between York Capital Management, an event driven hedge fund manager with over USD 17 billion AUM, and William A.M. Burden & Co., a family office for certain descendants of American transportation magnate "Commodore" Cornelius Vanderbilt, born in 1794. The firm was established formally as a separate investment firm in 2002. In 2012, it was announced that 1794 Commodore Funds was to wind down its funds of hedge funds and the company is no longer in existence.
